Trump or Biden? Astronaut Butch Wilmore reveals who truly saved him after 9 Months in Space

Barry “Butch” Wilmore, a NASA astronaut, recently shared insights on how he managed to endure a challenging nine-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

In a recent interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, the 61-year-old devout Christian spoke openly about discovering tranquility and purpose in space, despite facing unexpected challenges that extended his time in orbit.

On June 5, 2023, Wilmore and fellow astronaut Sunita Williams launched together aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.

NASA’s decision to postpone the Starliner’s return, originally scheduled for June 13, 2023, due to technical issues, transformed what was intended to be a short mission into a prolonged period of uncertainty. Throughout this experience, Wilmore leaned on his spirituality, crediting his guidance to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He remarked, “It all works out for those that will believe,” emphasizing the significance of faith in understanding life’s challenges, as he believes God is fulfilling His plan and purpose for humanity’s benefit.

A committed member of Providence Baptist Church in Pasadena, Wilmore hails from Tennessee and currently lives in Texas with his wife, Deanna, and their daughters, Daryn and Logan.

His faith remained steadfast before and during the mission. He and Williams exemplified their belief in God by praying with launchpad technicians just prior to liftoff. Wilmore’s reliance on faith was mirrored in his family. After her father’s safe return, Daryn expressed to DailyMail.com, “We know it was His plan, and the Lord has given us all peace throughout all of this.”

Deanna added, “Even if we don’t fully understand it, whatever the Lord does will be for our good and for His glory.”The extended mission garnered attention beyond NASA. In January, former President Donald Trump called on Elon Musk to rescue the astronauts, claiming that then-President Joe Biden had “abandoned” them. In response, NASA promptly adjusted the timeline to ensure the safe return of Wilmore and Williams.

“Regardless of how [God’s plan] unfolds, I find peace in that understanding,” Wilmore stated upon his return to Earth, contemplating his most significant lesson. He emphasized his commitment to all aspects of life, noting that both joyful and difficult experiences hold a divine significance for believers, referencing Hebrews 11.
