Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is facing criticism after making a mocking remark about Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott during a public event over the weekend. Critics argue that her comments were aimed at his disability, prompting a formal call for censure.
Representative Randy Weber (R-TX), a colleague from the Texas delegation, announced plans to introduce a resolution to censure Crockett, condemning her remarks as “vile” and “discriminatory.”
“The narrative of our esteemed Texas governor is one of steadfast resilience and determination,” Weber stated in an interview with Fox News. “In contrast, Jasmine Crockett’s actions—resorting to despicable discrimination and political attacks—are utterly reprehensible.”
He further remarked, “It is painfully clear that she has not been instilled with the values of Texas class, as her conduct is a disgrace to everything Texas and the United States represent.”
